"Ringing Out the Old..."
Palette Knife Oil / Panel
10" x 12
Detail at 100 %
On the last day of 2010 it was a balmy 9 degrees.
The snow and the ice on the creek was melting.
It is the subtleties of colours - the melting snow and
ice, the greys of the clay bottom creek bed
and the quality of light of the overcast day
- that make this painting. The use of
only the three primary colours
plus white allows for an infinite number
of colours and harmony of the same.
